Hello,

My multitrack software doesn't recognise wma files. Does someone have a clue as to how I can get them converted to open with my software?

Maybe there's an import function, or maybe you can burn the file to an audio CD then import the file from the CD, since most audio CD software will convert compressed files to audio files.

Thanks for your timely response.

I'm running Adobe Audition and I would like them to remain mp3 files but AA doesn't recognise wma for some reason. I had the same problem with a video file. I currently have a post on the AA forum and I'm waiting for a response there.

The burning to CD is a viable solution but I'm hoping for something simpler.

Thanks again.

Your software does the actual work that it does with .wav files, and would have to convert .mp3 or .wma files.

I've varified that Adobe Audition supports wma. This should not be a problem but unfortuantely it is. Perhaps the files are corrupted but I can't figure out why.

Yep, AA supports WMA files. I think the files are corrupt. Try opening them in another audio editor, Nero Wave Editor or even in the AA editor, and then save them as WAV or MP3. Preferably WAV so that you don't lose any data. Or RAW :)
