I have a yamaha cs1x synth and want to use it as a controller keyboard in acid pro 7 to be able to play soft synths within the programme from the keyboard.I have set the cs1x slider to midi on the back of the keyboard and connected the midi out of the keyboard to my pc,s soundcard which is a emu 04/04 to midi in and thats about it.I am quite new to all this so would love a simple full explanation of how i can achieve this and set up the software accordingly.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

go to Options > Preferences > MIDI and make sure that your device shows for both MIDI input, and MIDI track playback.

Once this is set go to Insert > MIDI track. Drag your MIDI track to resize it and see all of the options on the track. On the track itself you can click on the MIDI Input to select your current device. Then click the MIDI Output to select the VST or other Soft Synth that you want to use.

After setting all of these options, press the "Arm for Record" button on the MIDI track, then press the Master record button or press Control+R to start recording MIDI data.

BTW, I don't know anything about your keyboard or ACID pro, I just googled...that's usually a good place to start...:D

thanks for your reply will give in a try ,ive gone to preferences in acid pro and ticked the midi in and out for the emu 04/04,would i need to do anything in the settings of the 04/04/ soundcard itself do you think as no midi signal is being generated when i press keys on the cs1x.
