Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
I have a digi 001, and I understand the preamps may not be so hot, so I'm thinking about getting outboard pre's or a channel strip. But someone suggested I also get new converters. Pardon my ignorance, but if I get new converters, what do i need the digi for? I mean, what is the digi other than a converter with a couple preamps on front?

Also, where do outboard converters go in the chain? Thanks for any help.

If you are going to be using Pro Tools LE, you will have to have a digidesign approved interface. Pro Tools does not receive inout from anything else.

You can input a ADAT lightpipe and/or SPDIF input into the 001. An external converter that outputs either of these formats can be hooked up to the 001 and not only expand the number of inputs, but also may sound better than the 001 converters
