Hi there,

Sorry i'm not entirely sure what section this question should come under..

Is it possible to convert and a standard audio track to 3D ? So when it is being listened (probably headphones) to it sounds like it is coming from a specific location? I want the same effect as it is has been recording using binaural recording.

Any help or info would be much appreciated!

Many Thanks

Sam

Normally a standard stereo audio signal has enough information to make things sound like they're coming from different directions. Is your file mono or stereo?

I want to be able to change the direction with ease though (this is for a uni project)

So say I record a guitar track using garage band , I then want to be able to make this track sound like its coming from behind me but then say I don't like that, I want to be able to change it so it sounds like its coming from the side.

I hope this makes a bit more sense?

No, that can only be done with binaural recordings or if you're using a 5.1/7.1/ect setup. Stereo will only be able to manipulate left, center and right.
