Hi,
I use pro audio 9 and record in 24 bit mode. I used the "tools>change audio format" feature to convert the project to 16 bit to create a .WAV file that would be used to make a CD. This caused major clipping and distortion. I should have copied the project before trying this and I destroyed some tracks. The original track was a pretty hot signal but it sounded (and looked) fine. I was wondering how other people deal with this conversion... outside products maybe??? What was I doing wrong in Cakewalk??

thanks alot, Alan

You may want to keep an eye on what your wave actually looks look in track view. Make sure those peaks are not going overboard. Sometimes magnifying the track view helps.

Hi,
Try this
It is a mp3 player that I have used to convert audio files to mp3 then coverted back to audio(to burn cd) using music match with very good results. You can use the free version to try it out. http://www.musicmatch.com/

Good luck !
