Sorry guys, this post isn't about mics....I've been screwed out of a butt load of money by a national owned auto paint shop and would hate to see the same thing happen to any body elese. I was hoping to drive my '55 to some rock-a-billy gigs soon but I don't think it will happen for a while. Go to my site and see the close up photos of the mess they made of my car. Don't let this happen to you!!!!

Around here (Utah/Idaho) it is generally well-known that Maaco is good for cheap, quick, reasonable (if you aren't very picky) paint jobs; but nowhere near a "fine" paint job. I even considered them for paintng my mom's car. They showed me examples of their work, and the $300 paint job looked like a $299 paint job. I can't imagine them doing a $3000 job. Always ask to see examples of their work !

Condolences,
Rick

you got screwed with no grease....you oughta find a shyster lawyer that will take the case...get him to sue for 200K, and when he wins, he'll take 180K, and you can have the rest for a really nice paint job and some more gear....seriously, if you have the resources, or know a lawyer willing, fight 'em.....gibs

seriously, I hope they make it right ... I know how it is when all you want is someone to be a little bit reasonable and their head is just jammed up their ass too far.
Hopefully contacting the BBB will get this owner to do the right thing.

Just a suggestion

Man, you got a crappy deal.

Anyway, my suggestion is: is there a local news station that has a call for action type service. There are a couple of them in my area and they seem to get pretty good results. Not only do the people get restitution, but it plasters the problem company (in your case Maaco) all over the news. And last but not least, they do not charge you like lawyers do.

Hope this helps and the best of luck to ya.

Thanks for the sugggestions all. Because of some stupid fair trade laws in North Carolina, I was obligate to returm my car to maaco and let them fufill their garantee. So far they have hade my car for three weeks and haven;t even touched it yet. Fortunatley, I had them put in writing that they would correct all the problems by a certian date- 10 days from Jan. 1. If they aren't done by then or haven't corrected all the problems or preformed all the work on the original contract, this is going to court. But I may take your advice J.C., and contact the local news fisrt. They do have a consumer's rights segment every night. I wouldn't be so upset if I had only paid $300 for the paint and body work, but I paid $3000, thats a lot of money to me....
