This isn't exactly a music related post but I think it may be a use to all..........
I own a classic fifties car that I have spent two years working on...with the hope of someday driving to rock-a-billy gigs in style. This post is to prevent some of you from making the same $3,000 mistake I made. I have been royaly screwed by a national paint & body work franchise. Go to my site to see closed up photos of what they did and the whole story behind the nightmare. Don't let what happened to me happen to you!!!!

Yes the work is garranteed, however this peticular Maaco shop doesn't find it nessasary to honor their warranty nor their customer satisfaction advertising. This has been an ongoing fight since October 4, 2000. I have been it touch with Maaco Enterprises which is to oversee any and all consumer concerns, but they told me that they had no binding power and could only act as a mediator. As stated near the end of the text on my site, my home state's fair trade laws obligate me to allow Maaco to correct the problems, even though I would prefer a full refund.
So now my car is in Maaco's possesion again and they have not attempted any repairs. I have a sighned contract that says Maaco was to have all deffects and repairs corrected within a certian amount of time. They are now in breech of that contract. Their excuse is "We need parts and can't find any because of the age of the car" yet Maaco has yet to tell ME what parts they need to complete the work. I have at least three sorces for obsolete parts.
According to my attorny, I can't just go take my car back because of some other lame law that says that removing my property from a service provider with whom I have entered a legal and binding contract will prevent the service provider from fufilling the contract and thus forfieting my rights regarding warranty, garranty, and refund. I have to go to court to get my own car and then go to court again to try and get a refund. What a mess.

Well, even though it's going to take a lot of extra effort on your part, you gotta take that deadbeat to court. That's the ONLY way you're ever going to come out close to even on this deal. It's obvious that nothing you can say is going to change this guy's mind, so let a judge do it for you. If I were in your shoes, I'd pursue it all the way, no matter how long it took or how much it cost. Get that guy.

Good luck,

Lee
