Constructive criticism wanted for some of my songs

Hey everybody,

I just put some songs on http://www.myspace.com/miketopash and I'd like to know what you all think. Be as brutal as you have to be...I won't be offended because I recorded these songs about two years ago and my newer stuff is better (although recording it all has been going very, very slowly). "Through And Through" is the only one recorded with a decent mic (Studio Projects B1), and the others were done with one of those crappy computer dictation mics. Anyway, let me know.

ok..

talking is great i like the production quality... gives it a more honest feel...

the good way reminds me of some lost john lennon minus the guitar solo...ahh!! wht the heck you just scare the hell out of me withthat electric... ( i would lose it)

through and through good to go bro i really dig....

walking through i like too good rythem...

over all i like your stuff its right up my ally with the production quality...
i like crappy recordings... lol

Thanks for the reply. I know about the electric...it's very jolting. I like the way it sounds once I get into it, but I've never been able to imagine/plan a good built-up to it. I'll think more about it. I'm glad you like the stuff though...I plan on recording my songs in a more raw, one-take style anyway. It's just now I have a couple of better mics so the tracks will sound better, even for the ones I don't record in stereo.

Hey - nice stuff... I was surprised at how much I liked it! (no offense of course, but I can get a bit nervous with singer/acoustic guitar stuff) There is a nice subtle difference which I like, the odd dark turn and as E said, I like the lo-fi sound.
And I nearly jumped when that electric came in, so up front! I almost would say if you're gonna throw it in, go nuts with it and make it even MORE jarring...
