I have PA9. When mixing my project in Console view, it seems the volume of my midi tracks higher than track #5 drop out of the mix during playback - until I click on the slider control of those tracks, which brings them back to selected level. Anyone had this problem? Could this be a memory / system limitation problem - or am I not using the automation properly? Suggestions appreciated.

jonez,
I get the same problem. What I end up doing is before I start the song I just click on each one of the faders on the screen (be careful not to move them though). Once you do that it seems like Cakewalk then gets the correct volume levels. This really freaked me out at first but once you do the click thing it works fine, but you do have to do it every time you start the song. I have not noticed it messing with the final mixdown either.

Hope that helps

Hey guys,

I had the same problem a while back. In the manual (and I had to dig for this) it talks about running a CAL file before you start a new recording session. Go to Edit (i think) -> RunCAL -> roughmix.cal. This sets up the system to not have any initial volume or pan settings - something like that. Also, be sure to turn off automation. That did it for me.

good luck!
