Based on reviews on this forum, I have just purchased a Delta 1010lt audio card to assist me with recording. Now I am finding that connecting things to it is a bit more difficult than I anticipated. I know that I should be buying real studio monitors to use, but that simply isn't in the budget right now and the set of computer speakers I have been using have a surprisingly wide frequency range.

Anyway, I am trying to use these computer speakers through the 1010lt, which has all of its analog outputs as female RCA connectors. So in order to use the speakers, I need some way to take the male end of an 1/8" phone jack that the speakers have into a pair of male RCA connectors such that the stereo phone jack will combine the two mono RCA connectors.

To my extreme surprise, Radio Shack does not sell any connectors of this type, even though it seems like it would be a much more common scenario than many of the other audio connectors they have could solve. I suppose I could produce a device to make this connection, but it would involve purchasing no less than 4 different connectors from Radio Shack, and at that point its almost worth just buying a different speakers!

Is there something I am missing here? Do other people all use mono-input speakers, or is thee a common product I can use to connect these?

Thanks,
Chad Hogg

You should be able to find one online, guitar center, musicians friend.

Well, I'd say most people wouldn't monitor thru computer speakers.

Active speakers are generally hooked up via rca jacks, or if they're proper studio monitors they'll have xlr or 1/4" inputs.

You just need to get those converter jacks until such time as you can afford proper monitors. Unless you've got a regular hifi amp, then you can just line in rca from the 1010lt
