hey folks,

i just bought a compressor/limiter at a guitar center. I bought the Multicom Pro-XL MDX4600 unit. Its a Behringer brand and to me it seems to be pretty good. It's a four channel compressor and limiter. Its also got the gate/expander and some other goodies to it. When I bought this, I asked the sales person for the cables to connect it to my system. I had asked for the Y-insert cable, but all they had was this huge cable snake. it has the for insert and is split at the other end to connect to the compressor. My question is this, on the end that is connected to the compressor, the ends are labeled "ring" and "tip". What connector goes to the input and to the output? the snake is all 1/4" ends.

Tip is your input signal, ring is your output signal, to /from compressor.

*shudders*

*vomits*

*Attaches wires to vomit, mixed with dog shit and calls it 'multicom'*

*Throws the 'multicom' at Uli Behringer*

man, i sure hope the 4600 sounds better than the 4400. I used 2 of those at a couple of live mixing gigs and they made me sick. I ended up driving back home and bringing my own stuff. Use this compressor on tracks where crappy sound quality is acceptable (Preferably, ZERO).
