connecting motu 828 to a tc electronic finalizer express

As far as I understand, I can mainly connect my motu 828 audio interface to my tc electronic finalizer express in one of two ways one analog and one digital as follows:
1- main out of the motu to the analog in of the finalizer. And analog out of the finalizer to my speaker monitors.
2- spdif in/out between the 2 devices.

Which in ur opinion is a better setup?

Personally speaking, I'd avoid all the conversion and go the digital route in this case.

That said, I'd also avoid the Finalizer... But that's for another thread. Either way, you're likely better off running the S/PDIF.
