is it possible to connect a behringer Eurorack UB1203 Pro to an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96? do i just connect the rca cables from the mixer's tape out to the soundcard's rca inputs?
assuming u mean the UB1204, u can as well use cables which have a female XLR connector (or 1/4 inch, depending on which output jack u want to use) on one end, for the mixer, and male rca jacks on the other, for the soundcard.
u can get cables in all possible variations (or make them yourself)
Depending on the equipment you have.... the best connection would either be digital via ADAT or SPDIF etc... (there are also other digital connections), then balanced (XLR or TRS or a combo of the two) and finally unbalanced (TS or RCA or a combo of the two). It all depends on what you want and what you have access to.
the 1/4 to rca cables are the best method....if your skeptical then i hope we all can ease your fears...i have 1/4 to rca cables going to my monitors and my rack going to the sound card.. i thought about going straight to the tape mix also....I own the behringer UB802....but i bought the 1/4 to rca and i was happy...i kinda want to say it doesnt matter which method you choose...however i am thinking about if i want to upgrade to a better mixer in the future. i heard somewhere that rca to rca connections are one of the most low volume connections...this may not be true and if someone can prove me wrong then i would be greatful but unless i absolutely have to use rca to rca, i dont.
I'm not familiar with your mixer, but if you are just wanting to record two tracks (left and right), you could connect to the mains out. Provided this is not a powered mixer, meaning it doesn't have a built in power amp. If it does have a built in power amp, then you would want to use an AUX or Pre Amp out. However, if you are going to use an unbalanced cable .... there is no reason why you wouldn't be able to use RCA to 1/4 inch or 1/8 inch for that matter, depending on the size of the input on your sound card (1/4, 1/8 etc...) RCA outs can typically be found on a mixer that has Tape send\out.
Any music store or even Radio Shack (if they got them where you live) can hook you up with whatever cable or adapter you may need.
