Hey everyone, . . I was just wondering, if there was a way to record simultanelosy on tracks, 1, 2, 3 and 4, (in direct mode) on Tascam 424 mkII, and also connect a click device (just to monitor the click- not record it) on any of the addiotional channels,..like 5/6. or 7/8. . .and if so,.what would be the best way to connect the click. .. ?

FYI, we are using a Tascam MH-40 as a headphone amp hooked up to the 424's monitor out plug. . . .

Thanks guys!

Well,...

I'd say, just hook the click, drum machine, on 1/4" mono plugs, into the 424mkII into inputs 5 or 7 in Mono, (bridged to 6 or 8, respectively), and just bring the click up in the monitors.

When recording in 4-direct mode, the 5/6/7/8 inputs route to the L/R buss monitor, but do not record to tracks.

The L/R Stereo buss signal off the 424mkII should be comparable to the signal you'll get on the MH-40, when connected to the Line Outs of the 424.
