Are your speakers hooked up to the interface?

Oh BTW...Just goin through the PC...No other speakers...i can hear what I recorded only if I plug my headphones in to my interface nothing if I plug into my computer,,,Oh and its a Presonus Audio box w/ Adobe Audition and XP Media edition..thnx

A few things you need to try:

1 In control panel/sounds & audio: make sure the firebox is selected as the audio device.

2 In Audition, make sure you likewise have the firebox selected as an audio device.

3 Make sure you do all monitoring (recording & playback) through the firebox.

It does not work that way. You will NOT be able to hear anything on your computer speakers unless you plug said computer speakers into the interface. You either use your onboard sound card, or the Presonus, not both. They do not co-exist in an application and you cannot use both at once (i.e. record on one and listen back with the other)

Exactly what he said, you're over thinking this, if you can hear your recordings thru the interface's headphone out then it's working correctly.

You need to hook your speakers up to the outputs on the interface.

If your media edition computer uses some kind of fancy 4 or 5 speaker surround sound setup I would recommend ditching the extra speakers, for music recording, straight up stereo or stereo with a subwoofer is what you need to use, any more speakers than that will just make working with recording software an epic fail in progress, especially for a beginner.

I would also disable the built in soundcard in windows device manager to avoid possible driver conflicts.

:)
