Hi all,

I've just bought a pair of Alesis M1 active monitors, what cable should I use to connect them to the monitor outs of my seasound solo? Will any 1/4" jack to 1/4" jack cable do or is there any better way? If so, could you recommend a supplier for the optimum type of lead/cable?

Thanks!

i've wondered the same thing, if the wiring i was using could be improved. for example is using a balanced TRS cable going to produce better (noticably) than a TS cable?

I'm no genius on this stuff, but it wouldn't seem that using a TRS connector would do anything unless the speakers have balanced inputs on them.

I'd think, given the usually short run of these cables, it wouldn't make much difference anyway. Use good, high quality shielded cables and you should be fine.

Of course, if someone who actually knows what they're talking about cares to jump in...?

Cables

Signal is only as good as the cables and connections they make. One type of connection isn't necessarily better than the other, however the quality of the cables makes a huuuuuge difference. Make sure your cables are specifically designed for your application. (ie.. high quality speaker cable, monster cable etc..)

So basically any quality cable will do? That's cool, just had to check. Thanks a lot.

One more thing - should I use balanced or unbalanced cable? I'm still not really any closer to finding cables that I'm confident will do the job.
