Connecting 2 Soundcards???

Hey, I just bought this Audiophile 2496 thing and originally I had the soundcard that comes with my computer. I still have the old soundcard installed and would like to be able to use it in addition to my Audiophile. How do I go about using two soundcards at the same time without conflicting them. I basically just want more inputs and outputs for my Audiophile, but since I cant have that I would like to use my two cards together. Plus, I have a gang of 1/8 and 1/4 plugs and the Audiophile only uses RCA; if I could get my Audiophile to have 1/8th inch plugs like my old sound card, that would make everything better. Help!!!! LOL. Peace.

you'll probably be able to get both cards running at the same time, BUT i don't think you'll be able to synchronize them for recording. so unfortunately, you won't be able to record 4 tracks at once.

Well basically I want to connect my mixer (which I have a "mini" plug output for) to my old soundcard. Since my analog ins and outs are already occupied on my Audiophile, I would like to be able to have my mixer connected to the Audiophile's S/PDIF. This way everything connected to my mixer will be played through the Audiophile... kind of like using the old soundcard as a breakout box. How do I go about doing this?

It is very possible to record with two sound cards at once as long as your software supports it (and i think most do)

I recorded four tracks at once using n-track and the line out from a mackie 1202-vlz.

Not possible unless you have a digital mixer with an S/PDIF output.
