If you record a song using the BR-8's rhytum guide, you could MIDI sync the BR-8 to the Jamstation and the BR-8 would control the Jamstation's drums (after muting any backing tracks).
Sometimes I don't feel like programming my DR-5 drum machine when I record a song, I'll use the BR-8's rhytum guide and than connect the BR-8 to the DR-5, using a standard MIDI connector, patch the DR-5's stereo line-out to the BR-8's stereo line-in, using RCA patch cord. The DR-5's drums are on MIDI ch10, so I set the BR-8's MIDI 'send' to ch10. All I have to do now is arm a track and press record and the BR-8 will control the whatever tempo and whatever kit (on the DR-5) I selected.
