alright i am doing some recording on my computer, and right now i am going into a soundblaster audigy from my yamaha mg16/4 mixer. If i buy something like a delta 1010 will i still wanna hook my mixer to that? im confused. If i want to do 6 drum mics and a bass mic simultaneously, would i be able to?

Yes, you would just output from your main outs, group outs and/or inserts into the 8 inputs of the 1010.

You'll need the preamps in the mixer to get the mics to a reasonable level

Analog Summation

I still use my mixer even though I have a MOTU 828--there's nothing like analog summation, even if it's with a not-exactly-great mixer. I say get a few more cables and use them to hook out of the 1010 into the mixer, then out of the mixer post fader back into the 1010, or onto some other medium. It'll make you feel like you actually know what you're doing :)

so what would i buy if i want lots of inputs (at least 8) for somewhere around $300(or less)? this would be pci, for a 3.0ghz pentium 4 system, 1 gig ram, etc, etc. is the delta 1010 my best choice?
