Hi, I've been experimenting with the little gear that I have and also trying to get as much info as I can from forums, manuals, etc. I still have one question in mind, though.

What are some different ways that I could a signal from a multitrack to my mixer?

I don't want to bring everything in through the line in, having to repatch every time I monitor the multitrack. Can I use Inserts only to return the signal from the multitrack into a channel and then using that signal I can EQ it, send it through Aux sends, and then route it to the main mix?

I also know that you can return the signal to different channels, but do what if you don't have any channels left?

Confused,

I am also confused...by your post.

If you have a multitrack and a multitrack mixer, your Multitrack (Ay an 8 track) will have 8 ins and 8 outs and your Board will alos have 8 outs and 8 ins. I think I may be missing something in your post.

Ok, the console channels have Direct outs, Line In, XLR in, and Inserts.

Should I return the multitrack outs (8) to the channels' Line In?
Can I return the same signals into the channels' Insert?

I guess I'm just wondering what is most widely done when returning a multitrack signal to the console for monitoring and then eventually routing it out for mixdown.

Sorry for the questions being so weirdly phrased.
