confused about Kurzweil Rumour and Mangler...

Everyone that loves this box raves about the converters...and yet, I thought this was primarily an effects unit. I haven't been bale to find info or a back panel shot of it to figure out what everyone means. How many channels do you get with it too? And clearing up on this would be great...thanks a bunch!

They are marketed primarily as rackmounted effects. But, like alot of new equipment, they have A/D converters. The inputs are balanced stereo and mono.

For the price, I'm not sure they can compete with other stand-alone converters made by Mytek, Benchmark, and Lucid. But who knows! I just wish they had come up with better names. I'm willing to stick my plug into something called a distressor but I guess I'de draw the line at mangler!

But they are much less than those converters you mention, and there's a great fx processor attached too!
