Hi Folks--
Basically, I want to use CEPro (V2.00) to add Reverb to an audio stream. Is this possible ? If so, how do i "set it up"?

"Leibo"

CEP2.0 was the first version of the software to offer real time effects but I have a feeling they were only available for mixing recorded tracks, not for monitoring live. (I could be wrong--but I haven't used that version in about 10 years.)

I recall the same experience as Bobbsy.

Are you tied to CEP? There are much more advanced free suites out there today.

CEPro is the only audio editing program I'm familiar with..

<<"Step 1. Download Reaper">>--and then what?
what exactly does "Reaper" do?

Well, I checked out "Reaper"--and you're right-- I "Crapped"-- at the price--in addition to CEPro--any freeware to do the "job" I seek?

I don't understand. Reaper is free.
Well, it's an honour system. You can pay.

If you think reaper is expensive, recording isn't for you. ;)

Configuring CEPro for Realtime Reverb

>>If you think reaper is expensive, recording isn't for you<<

If you READ my ORIGINAL post & the Title --I'm not trying to RECORD per se--I am looking to ADD Reverb to an Audio STREAM utilizing CEPro--as for "Reaper" being "FREE", you should take a closer LOOK at their web-site!

Sigh. I'm going to take my mate Steenamaroo to task for calling Reaper free. The very fact that it's an honour system is, for me, the best reason to encourage everyone to pay.

However, I also worry about the tendency these days to expect to find software that does anything and everything for free. In this case, I can't think of anything free that will do live reverb with low enough latency to be acceptable. The OP paid for CEP2 ten years ago (you DID pay, didn't you?) and it won't do the job. Reaper is a fraction the cost NOW that CEP2 would have been when it was new.

well if we're talking about "acceptable latency"--have you or anyone else heard those God Awful "environment" choices from Realtek Audio--Jeez the phrase "acceptable latency" would take a severe beating when applied to those Realtek "Environment" choices--and believe me I've tried them ALL! I am already running my Audio Stream from an external reverb unit (and for my money, it's affordable & does the job)--for anyone who might care it's Alesis Nanoverb--and it WORKS --at least for MY purposes! However, i was looking for something more "direct" in nature to "extricate" me from a computer audio>to analog console>analog Reverb setup...But if there's no options then I'll live with what I have. I would like to point out--in reading some of theses threads--I notice wherea poster will ask for help --and some replies seem to take the poster to task for what he is doing or the way he is doing it instead of responding to the querie. we all have our own methods & limitations --not everyone's setup is alike thus making for "options" & alternatives to the way we desire to accomplish our goals. it woudl be nice if we could just ANSWER the request (if it applies) rather than suggesting alternatives which might not "apply".

Get Reaper and use it instead of CEP. The effects can be used in real time on inputs. You can even record the stream before or after the effects if desired. If you just want to send that stream to an audio output you're done. If you want to stream it online you may need more software (like Jack).

OP, I suggested an alternative that does apply.
You're using software that, apparently, won't apply real time effects without recording.
Reaper will do this for you.

Bobbsy, I take your point, but I did say that it's an honour system and I did say that you can pay for the software.
Regardless of morals, what I said is true.

Hey! I'm a Nanoverb fan. It was my first home reverb and, despite its limitations, it's Plate 1 reverb is still a favourite of mine (and nicer sounding than a lot of expensive boxes.

For now? Download Reaper and see if it does what you want and is worth $60.

Failing that, does anyone know if Audacity (freeware) would do realtime stuff? It's years since I played with Audacity but if it CAN do real time there are lots of free VST reverbs out there.

Finally, if it comes to paying, there are programmes out there designed to do live sound effects on a PC. I'm on my mobile now but, if you're interested can dig up some details later.

Funny, I did wonder about that myself.

Always interested in "options" re: digging up some stuff--but not wild about $helling out extra buck$--as i mentioned I HAVE a way to add the reverb to the stream--and am doing it even as i type--just looking for a more "direct" method (applying reverb via the PC)--but it's not worth the $$ for an "option" which is only "preferred" but NOT "necessary"
