Condenser Microphone not working on Behringer mixer? (AT 2035, phantom power IS on)

Hey, thanks for looking. I just got an AT 2035 today and plugged it into my Behringer mixer. I switched on the phantom power, plugged it into the mixer via XLR-XLR, and nothing happened. I've got two speakers plugged into the mixer, and I got no sound. Switched the cable with my SM58, and it was actually a bit too loud (just from the volume settings). Tried different inputs and got nothing on any of them (4 XLR inputs). So far it's my only condenser mic. Any ideas on what the problem is? I'll be gone for the week starting tomorrow morning, so unfortunately there's not much I can do at the moment, just seeing if I'm doing something wrong or if there's anything I can do at home.

Thanks for reading, I hope you guys can help.

Sincerely,

~Brent

perhaps the phantom power isn't working? perhaps its not giving you what you need? (ie 9v but the mic needs 48v) perhaps you bought a ribbon and just voided the warrenty :P

Haha maybe it was a ribbon mic ^.^.

Anyway I can check that it's outputting the whole 48v?

The AT 2035 shows a minimum of 11v to work. It should be working even if the Behri only supplied 24v. Use a multimeter to test the output of the mixer. Here.

Have you tried another cable?

I did try multiple cables; however they were of the same model. Looking around the interwebz I noticed that you need certain wiring in the cable for it to work with phantom power (something with the pins and all that. I just know my cables are all xlr to xlr, I even plugged the mic straight into the mixer (same results). Thanks for the link (assuming it shows how to test for voltage outputs, I haven't looked yet), when I get home I'll be sure to check the voltages. If its not outputting the full voltage, what are my options?

If it is not producing voltage, then return it if it is under warranty. If it isn't, then buy something new. Sorry, but it happens. :(
