Hello everyone
This is my first post here. I got tired of a certain other unnamed forum, so I'm hoping to find more eh, fruitful grounds...
I'm at the end of my pitiful rope with a condenser mic, CAD M177. The problem is it cuts out randomly. First, I made sure it's the mic and not a bad connection. The CAD rep suggested I send the mic back to them. They'll fix the cartridge(capsule) for $115. Too bad I'm poor.
The sound is fine when the mic decides to work. All the elements should be alright I guess. Wouldn't a problem like this have to be a short in the wiring? If I replace the wires and resolder everything should that fix it? Or maybe that's wishful thinking... If anyone has any insight or idea about this, please please share it with me. I don't want to pay a hundred bucks to repair a hundred-fifty dollar mic!
