conchords bass sound

Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
I'm really curious about what kind of gear makes the bass sound in this one song, "You're So Beautiful" by Flight of the Conchords. Here's a picture of the bassist, I can't ID his instrument but who knows if it's the one he uses on the recording anyhow:

I'm not going to rush out and buy a rig identical to his, I'm just curious if it immediately evokes some bass or some amp as soon as some of you more experienced people hear it.
 
That's about what my Fender Jazz Bass sounds like with both volumes up and the tone high through my Ampeg head Bass and treble cranked and the Mid about half through an 810 cab.

Do you think they miced a cab for that recording? How different is that sound from the one you'd get direct?
