computer won't respond to presonus inspire

i recently bought a Presonus Inspire 1394 and installed it on my computer. It was fine the first time, with all the mic pres working and such, but then i reformatted my computer, and tried installing the card again. Whenever i would plug the card in, my computer would not detect it. (btw, im running on a P3 550mhz computer with 512mb RAm (very pathetic, i know)). I was wondering if it's just my computer, or the card itself. If it is the card, do you think i could get any tech support? I heard Presonus has excellent customer support, but im in Canada, and i don't know their support reaches that far. any insight would be well appreciated. thanks.

did you install all updates and hot fixes. I know there is a hot fix for the firewire port on the micrsoft site.
