How do:
I need some words of wisdom on how to make use of my computer for recording...so far I have all the necessary equipment to make a real good sounding demo... I do all my home recording off MD8 Yamamha... I heard of how to use MIDI but never fully explored it. I also know that you have to buy additional programs for your PC.. (ie Cakewalk and such).. and that's no problem if I just knew the best one to get and how to use it... any help on this would be appreciated and I'm sure my future recordings would sound much better... thanks
DL.

You are far to vague with your question for anyone to be able to answer it. If you wnat the best, go Pro Tools 5 to 10 thousand. Now, back to reality. There are so many options out there that it is very hard to point you in the right direction. It also depends on what you what to do with it and how you will use it. As far as how to use the various software packages go, they all work differently. The best way to learn how to use them is to read the manual. I know this is not much help, but this is a hard question to answer. If I were you, with all the posts on this BBS and the power of the web, start doing some research. When you come up with specific questions, I am sure that there are many people that can help. Until then, Happy Recording
