Sure... mult the signal source into 2 and send it to both your computer and ADAT at the same time. Of course, the computer and ADAT won't be in sync...

And the bigger question is why do you want to do this at all??

No... I could be wrong but I have never come across a program that allows sync'd editing from computer to ADAT...

You don't really specify what you're trying to do, but if I was using those devices I would be tracking to either one, then using a digital interface between them to transfer tracks back and forth without losing a generation. I'm not sure why you'd ever want to use both at the same time. If you're talking about sync'ing the computer and ADAT up, then you need an external device to handle the sync... JLCooper DataMaster(???) for example...

Well... if you actually gave us more details, we could probably help you out a bit more...... suggest maybe a better course of action.... more info usually gives better results!!!

well, the thing that has me stumped is some people record their song on a computer program such as listed and then have the song mixed be someone one else somewhere else.is it later transfered to an adat or when the song is mixed is it mixed using that program. So what im trying to get at is do i need both.Hope this helps

OK... I *think* I understand what you're trying to do...
You record onto your computer and do what you have to do there, then you want to take those tracks and have them mixed in a studio by someone else...

If the studio has the same software, I suppose it would be possible to store the audio files to CD-R and take those to the studio, but more likely you want to transfer the computer tracks to ADAT (digitally, so you lose nothing), then take the ADAT tapes to the studio for mixing...

You need to get an interface between your computer and your ADAT that converts the computer's digital I/O to ADAT's proprietary lightpipe I/O. I can't name off some companies from the top of my head but check this page out (http://www.frontierdesign.com/press_rel.htm) - I believe it has the info on the card-I/O converter that you need....
