Um...this is sort of off topic..well it is related to music at least...

I am deciding on a new set of speakers, there are a few sets that I am considering right now

1. Altec Lansing ATP3 (2.1 speakers, $85)
2. Altec Lansing 221CN (2.1 speakers, $60)
3. Altec Lansing AVS300(2.1 $33) or AVS500(5.1 $60)

Anyone owns any of them or know about them? GOod? bad? comments?

They are not the only ones that I am consider buying...
If anyone knows some good speakers that are under $100, please tell me.....

The speakers will mainly be for listening to music(pop/rock).

(all price in Canadian dollars, 2.1= 2 satellites + 1 sub, 5.1 = 5 satellites + 1 sub)

I heard that they are nice too...but too expensive($120)...

what other brands is good other than the alteclansing?

Too expensive????? Did you just say $120 is too expensive?

If you are serious about your music you will pull out your credit card and some extra cash from the savings account or checkings account and from the next paycheck coming up, and buy a pair in the $500 range. Bose. Go for the best only. I got a pair of BOSE speakers that I output from my soundcard to get the best sounding quality. They cost $670 each, and yes, I'm still playing for them, and my new computer, but is all because Im serious about making it dude...Next Im gonna get one of the DELTA series soundcard and a new synth, but, get GOOD speakers, not cheap ones, and not necesarily COMPUTER SPEAKERS.

If you want great sounding budget speakers that, IMHO and many other audiophiles, sound much better than most $500-$1000 bookshelfs, get a pair of Paradigm Atoms. These are under $70 per speaker and will blow the pants off any Bose, JBL, or any other name brand manufacturer.
But, then again, you said under $100 for the pair.

Well...too expe3nsive for me...i am not willing to pay so much for a set of computer speakers because there are many other stuffs which i prefer to get with the money....

I just want decent quality, not the best, but not crap either...

Also...my bose music system on my car(OEM) sounds like crap...i don't trust bose anymore...

Can you plug in any speakers into a computer??
I have some really expensive Hi-Fi speakers in my house(from my parents), can I use them as my computer speakers..?

If not intended for recording and monitoring, do you have a home stereo. I used to have my old SB outputting to my stereo. Worked very well. No money spent !;)
Also, the Klipsch series are really nice. The set with 1 sub and 2 satelites. I cant remember waht they cost...maybe $150
