computer recording

I have an excellent sound proof room and a very capable computer . I would like to know what else I need to get started recording . Someone suggested Pro Audio 9 . I need a list of hardware and software recommendations for recording 5 peice generic rock band . Have roland club drums . Need live and seperate recording.

Since you just got here, I strongly recommend looking at past threads using the search key. You can maybe start with the Newbies Forum only. You'll soon find out this question has been asked many times before. It should give you something to read for quite a while and then you can maybe start asking some more specific questions. That's how I started anyway. You just found the best site on home recording.

BTW, I'm just wondering, what's a "generic" rock band?

Generic rock band is drums, bass, 1 or 2 guitars, maybe keyboards.....

In french, "générique" can either mean what you see at the end of a movie (credits) or any medication that is marketed as a no-name type brand. Go figure...
