what a fuckin suprise, my computer is having problems again holy shit this never happens. well i was re-organizing all the wires behind my rack and in doing so i by accident turned the switch to off on the power strip that has my computer plugged into it. So it restarted it's self and when it came back on everytime i would try to do anything it would go to a blank black screen (almost as if the monitor was turning off) and then it would be were i wanted it to be. But after using it for a while it just turned off and restarted again and instead of going to my desktop it took me to a screen that said something like "windows has been shut down to prevent you from hurting your computer" and then it also said "the video card may be in a infinite loop" and it gave me some reccomendations on what to do but all the reccomendations require me to start the computer and at least get to my desktop so that i can do something. Now the damn thing wont even get me to my desktop.

ANOTHER BROKEN VIDEO CARD... here we go ROUND 2

any suggestions

The first thing I'd try is turning the computer off and unplugging it from the wall. Wait a few minutes and then plug it in and see if it will boot up. Sometimes you have to do a full power down/power up cycle, not just reboot after reboot. You may have already tried this, but it is just a suggestion.

video cards can be sumbitches. i would remove the video card, fire up the pc and let it run for a few minutes, shut it down, put the card back in, fire it up again, and see if you get past the infinite loop crap. you might try this with safe mode too (f8).

if you get windows to load, uninstall the video driver. repeat the above procedure and reinstall the the video driver. you'll likely have problems later on down the road with this same issue. start investigating the video card infinite loop issue.

well from the looks of things .. its not looking to good

- i have just plain unplugged the computer and rebooted

- i have taken the piece out rebooted and then put it back in and rebooted

- i have disabled the card rebooted and enabled it

- i have uninstalled the device and rebooted and re-installed

and none of these have solved the problems

Sometimes this is the only thing that will work:

thats what its lookin like .... this might strike me to just make a copmpleteyy new computer (rackmountable)

ive wanted to for a while now

yes, I mentioned that way up there ^. google is your friend. :D

you may have just knocked the physical card loose

open the bastard up and make sure everything is in nice and snug

That's what I was thinking. Reseat all the cards, including RAM.

its fried

weve tried it in several computers and it does the same thing

i am now building a new computer! lol what do you guys think i should get for recording... i have a solid idea so far, ill probably make a thread about it with all the specs

just because it's not working in several computers does'nt mean it's fried. did you research the infinite loop issue? if you're throwing it out, send it to me. :D

good luck with what ever you end up doing.

check out that thread...i posted the computer i just built from newegg.com for about 509 + shipping..

it's really a great machine, especially for recording...and the onboard video is REALLY good, as far as onboard video goes...

if it's a recording machine, and like me, you use it for ntohing else, the video will be fine....

if you are into heavy gaming, you'll have to throw down on a new video card
