Computer not seeing USB mixer

I'm using Cubase LE that came bundled with the Alesis USB multimix. It worked for awhile, then I shut my PC off and when I tried it again later it wouldnt see the USB connection. After I turned the PC on and off about three times, then it worked again. But now it doesnt. Any ideas?

My settings in the audio panel are set for "USB Codec". When I look in the device window in cubase, it saysthe input ports are from "SoundDesign" or "soundblast" or something.

It's still not working. I dont get it. I have a brand new Dell PC and I just got the Multimix. Why is it working intermitinetly? I checked the Alesis web site, but theres no drivers for it. Should I return this unit to the store??

maybe ask the store if they have any extra CDs with drivers on em or something?
 
ok, I just figured it out. So if anyone else has this problem, this is what I did. ( I'm very new at this) Under the "device settings" in CUBASE I had it set to the sound card instead of USB CODEC. Dooohhh! I wonder why it still worked sometimes?? Strange!
