hi. I was reading on SOS that to build a good ISO box you have to make the intakes and outs of air with a previous felt labyrinth (sp?). That way the sounf will not get out of the case.
But since sound is air in movement, creating such a device inside the box will also prevent the air from moving in and out of the box, thus heating things inside.
Am I thinking right? Can anybody give me advice / links on how to isolate this incredibly noisy G4?
cheers, Andrés.

BTW \> do you know if the G4 has a second fan on the power supply?

Cordura,
I just built an isolation box. You can see it on my post of "studio Pics" It works very well, quiet and cool. I used 6" flex heating duct, which is insulated with fiberglass, out of a hole in the back of the box - and vented it into the next room. I the placed a fan in the duct to draw air thru and out of the box.

If you want more detail I can give you more.

Larry

nice box.

Does it have any ventilation? How did you pass the cables inside?
Do you have a picture of the rear view?

Cheers, Andrés

Larry - please do make a sketch of how you built the box... I have a very noisy PC and have been thinking about a similar solution to yours...

Thanks
Kevin.

Guys,

I will be glad to make you a sketch. I am at work now and can't but I will tonight, if possible.
