computer interfaces vs. all in one boxes

whats the difference?

in say, a presonus firepod and and all in one recording box that can record the same amount of inputs simultaneous?

are the preamps worse or better in those all-in-one recording units?
 
nevermind.. I am an idiot..

these all in one things don't have preamps.. and those that do still only have like 2-4 ish.. I need at least 8.
