Okay, so...some background. Motherboard went out and I got a new one. It's an MSI Neo2. When I booted up and all that good stuff...I noticed some of the following that didn't happen with the previous mobo.

The first one is an IDE Channel error. I'm not sure what is causing it but maybe it's some settings in my BIOS. I'm not sure...

The second is that Windows speaker thing that is in my taskbar. It was never there before...I had to reinstall my soundcard drivers too...maybe that's standard with a new mobo or something, though.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Some additional specs might help...

Data HD (Primary Master)
Audio HD (Primary Slave)

DVD-RW (Secondary Master)
DVD-Rom (Secondary Slave)

Samples HD - This is an IDE drive that has an SATA converter on it so I can connect it to my SATA inputs on my mobo. It registers in the BIOS as something like IDE 3 Master. Works fine...and it worked fine before on the old mobo.

2GB RAM
ATI 128MB Video Card (AGP)
Intel P4 w/HT 3.0Ghz

That Icon is in your Task Bar so you can Adjust the Volume and audio settings...

If you want to get Rid of it you Just Go to your "Controll Pannell" to "Audio& Sound Devices" and Uncheck "Place Volume Icon on TaskBar"....

Also when you install a New Motherboard you should also Re-Install Windows because when Windows Loads the Drivers at Startup and the Drivers aren"t the Same as the Ones from your Old Motherboard it can Cause some Major Driver Conflicts and Booting Problems.....

Things will allways Go Much Smoother with a Fresh Install of Windows after a major Hardware Upgrade like this.....

Cheers

Yup, any change in hardware (especially mobo's) will drive Windows nuts; the installs are very specific and not generic.

You REALLY need to do a full install from scratch....
