Very new to recording, looking to purchase a line ux1 and cubase 5 to record with and wonder if someone could have a look at the specifications of the computer below and tell me if it would suitable for what I am planning on doing.

You have a great computer. I still think you'll need an interface other than the UX1. That will get some great guitar sounds, but everything else won't work, like drums or vocals. The UX2 could do. But any decent interface will have you multitracking in no time, and in tandem with the UX1, you'd be able to record anything and get great sounds.
I always advocate this guy and his videos on Cubase LE; YouTube - Learning how to use Cubase LE Part 2. Bill Childress is my guru. Check the computer he uses to record! As long as you don't go bananas with the plug ins and effects, it is possible to use a much lesser computer.
 
your pc is built & should last a long time... very capable to handle most anything currently on the market that I know of using USB 2.0.....
