Hello all,
New here & planning to upgrade my computer. I will be working with a stand-alone recorder (I think I'm getting an AW1600) & flying in the tracks to process with Audition, Ozone, Sound Forge, etc.
I am thinking about building (having it built, really) my next computer, and trying to decide what processor to use. Gonna be Intel, but my question is do I need to go with a Quad core, or will a Duo be fine? Does the audio processing benefit from the Quad? If anyone has a suggestion as to which MOBO would work well for this, I'm all ears.
DDR2 or 3 for RAM? Do you see a difference worth the money?
The other plan would be to buy a ready-built computer. Any opinions on brands? I can get a Dell with the latest i7 processor, pretty loaded, for $1500. Would need a soundcard, of course.
Thanks.
