Compressor to Firebox?

Was looking at getting the presonus Eureka Comp/EQ and usingit as my Mic Pre. Do all I have to do to set this up is use the line outs on the Eureka into the line ins on the firebox? will this cause latency at all? any help is much appreciated thanks
 
You won't introduce any latency using another preamp
