Can anyone recommend a good (preferably free) compressor plugin for Cakewalk? I thought that one came with the FX2 package, but I don't see it anywhere. At this point the only one I have is a demo that cuts out every 10 seconds.

Thanks, Peter

There is one that is included with Sonar. It's called FX Dynamics Processor. I don't think it installs with the default installation of Sonar. If it's not showing up, you may have to get out your CD and install it from there (it's part of one of the packages).

Is that part of the XL package? Or does it come with the base Sonar software?

I found a free plug-in called VBStripTool. It includes EQ as well. I'm not at home but you might be able to find it with a Google search.

It's been with Cakewalk products since Pro Audio 7 (I think... at least 8).

If you don't see it, then Dachay showed you the way. Run the installer again, and uncheck everything except the effects you want.

Really? I had Cakewalk 7, then 9, and never found a compressor. I looked high and low for one. I had only the basic packages. I've since found VBStripTool and it's the only one I've used so I don't know how it compares ot others.
