Does anyone have any good thoughts, ideas, and suggestion for compression on overhead micks, and cymbals micks?

Well I'm a pretty hard hitting drummer, sometimes going for the dave grohl sound. But I'm also wroking alot with ghost strokes so I want them to be heard aswell.

What's going to hit the compressor the first? Cymbals? Snare?
(A round about way of asking what going to be prominent in the O/H's.)

oh... I guess I would say both actually, because I've been working with different recordings where there's been different sounds ( some with snare louder, some with cymbals louder, spec. hi-hat) and I've never thought that I got the hang of it...
But I will soon do a new recording with myself, and I'm guessing the cymbals will be loud, as I know how I probably will mike the kit this time. Would be good to get tips on the other way around too though.
