I am thinking about upgrading my recording rig to a laptop so it will be portable, so I am considering selling my complete DAW I built six months ago.
Here are the specs:
Athlon xp2500+ - I have easily overclocked it so it is recognized as 3200+
but to run consistently at that speed, you will need a better cooling fan
FIC au13 mb - Based on nforce 2 chipset - one of the most compatable
chipsets for most recording situations recording
512 MB ram - I think it is pc3200, but I dont remember what I bought
Dual video cards- I dont remember what they are off hand, but I can
get the specs- one is agp and one is pci
I also bought a silent power supply for it with thermal switching
Waveterminal 192m audio interface - 4 in, 10 out
4 gig main drive
new 80 gig 7,200 rpm audio drive
"custom" case" - I have drilled cooling holes in some spots, its not the
prettiest
Has built in usb 2.0, firewire, LAN
cd burner
I mixed an album on this computer running 20+ tracks with 3 plugins on many of the tracks with no problems
Not really sure if I want to get rid of it or when, but for the right offer maybe
