I got 10 commercials due tonight, I have 8 commercials total currently... I have exhausted all ideas on commercials to record. Anyone have some ideas?

I've done 7 commercials of our musics, from clubs, to wet t-shirt contests, to emcee battles, to beat battles & 1 Dell commercial...

I'm TRYING to write a verse for Dr Pepper.... but that's becoming a harder task than I imagined... Each commercial is 1 minute long, so it's hard to talk about an item for 1 minute lol. I tend to repeat the websites if there is one, and phone numbers too to take up 10-20 seconds... HELP ME!

When I had that assignment I did it on Pimp Juice. The other one I did was about soup. As a class we did a parody of the heres to you budweiser commercial and the SNL western Jeans in a can.If your instructers cool you can try bottled pussy or pussy in cans. Had a guy in class do something like that it was funny as hell.

Good Luck.

I'm jealous... :D

edit: Maybe you could do a homerecording.com bbs commercial...

lol I was thinking about that, but I couldn't think of a whole 1 minute commercial. I started writing one, but it was like 20 seconds of non stop talk about learning & networking for music.

Do it like these prescription drug commercials...

"Are you having trouble with gain staging?
Do you no longer enjoy your microphone?
Are you having trouble sleeping due to that melody stuck in your head?
If so you may be a HomeRecorder. Ask your physician about homerecording.com/bbs."

(Results may vary. Remember only your physician knows what's best for your condition and if you expierence an errection lasting longer than 4 hours seek immediate medical attention.)

:D ahhh i tried...lol

How about sampling the sounds of pouring the Dr. Pepper. The sound of drinking it.The ahh after you finish. The sound of the bottle clanging and someone scratching the words Dr. Pepper,on point,23 flavors.Making a track with all of that and at the end say enuf said.

I was about to record the dr pepper can opening up & me taking a sip and all that. I was wondering what was their line for the drink lol.

the new trademark for them now is talkin about the flavors. it's either 23 or 24 idk but the commercials have people dumbed out just sayin the number 23 or 24 cuz thas all thats on they mind i guess

I passed lol. I got a 90 on the commercials, and a 100 on my final exam.... Today is our final skills test... this should be fun. The commercials were based on volume level's if it had an effect in it, and if it had music on there... thankfully they didn't grade on how good the commercial is.

it SHOULD be pretty EASY ;)

all it really is, is 3 parts, in 2 studios, Studio A & D, one SSL console, one NEVE console. Part 3 has all the pro tools stuff on it ie: set up a session, save a session, setup tracks in mono/stereo, run side chain patch internally, add an effect using a plug-in, make edits etc... I should fly through that part...

For the other 2 parts to the tests in each studio, is pretty easy in itself too... I need to setup mic's, route the mic's to a track & set monitor levels, send mix into headphone cues, add reverb into headphones & control room, record tracks, over dub tracks, playback tracks, set console into mix mode & recording mode, create a rough mix, patch a side chain using aux sends, add onboard EQ, patch a compressor, and do an inline patch... all that I already know how to do before I stepped foot into the studio in the first place haha... I should ace that too... they were going to let us trouble shoot problems, but thought it would get hetic if they start pulling cords out of consoles etc..

next semester, is mixing & mastering... all pretty easy stuff. I actually looking forward to the mastering stage of the class. So yall be prepared next semester, cause yall gonna learn about mastering too lol
