combining cubase sx and my aw1600 workstation

brand new at this so bare with me.

Recently purchased an aw1600 workstation to record, editing kind of sucks,

I was considering buying cubase sx3 to have better capablities. I know i can

export wav files and should be able to use the aw1600 as a remote as well .

The newbie question I have is what else am I going to need besides cubase.

I think all I will need is a midi interface for the keyboard I plan on hooking up

. Can I skip the audio interface all together since I will be recording all audio

through my aw1600? what about sound quality ? by the way this is my new

computer I will be using : Apple Power Mac Dual Core G5 2.3GHz
2.3GHz Dual-core Computer with 512MB DDR-533 RAM, 250GB SATA Hard Drive, and PCI Express Architecture.

cant tell you about the gear but I would deffinately up your ram to at least a gig. everything else on your comp should work fine.

It does not look like the aw1600 has any digital connections other than spdif so that thing will do very little good as a DAW front end. I would look for a good firewire interface
