Ive been working for ages to find a good colour scheme for my studio but things have all flipped now that my carpenter says it will cost me a ton load extra to have my desk in black.

Ive decided that i would really like the desk to be in a nice pinewood colour, but it makes it fairly difficult to match the rest of my room with it.

So far, i think i want to have:

Desk: Pinewood
Floor: Pinewood
Walls: White
Accents: Black

Im not sure how it'l turn out.. but i wanted the walls white because i think it gives the whole room a really fresh feel and it wont feel too dim even with low lighting.

As for lighting, im going to have a few spots coming down from the cieling, mainly around the desk area, and then maybe a few on the by walls so they reflect down to give a nice effect.

I want the whole place to look really modern and clean and i want it to be a nice open workspace.

I can post images of what i have so far if you like.

Im just looking for colour suggestions :)

You might want to go with a slightly off-white instead of stark white. At least, I would. It'll still look fresh and modern, but also a bit warmer and more natural. I recently redid my (bed)room from plain white to a more creamy colour, and it's so much more comfortable.

White walls in a studio? Hmmmm. I see the vibe you are going for, but that sort of look usually demands a lot of natural light

There has been extensive research into color affecting mental states and overall moods.

Reds and purples seem to help with creativity.
