I will be painting my new studio area in my new house sometime in the next few weeks, but I dont have a color scheme picked out yet :(. So I was just wondering, what colors your studios are painted (pictures would be awesome!). I am thinking about a warm, reddish orange, but Im not for certain yet.

Thanks! Drew

I was so eager to get my project going that I couldn't bear the thought of a painting delay - plus I hate painting - so I left it 16 year-old girl electric blue. It's starting to grow on me. (I got rid of the matching curtains.)

I like the thought of a warm reddish orange. I did mine in kind of a steel bluish gray with kind of a classic white trim. I thought about doing a jet black racing stripe down the center of the room but the tape line was horrible and I couldn't get it centered. Then again, I only spent a few minutes trying. If you have the patience (I had already been painting for two days), you should put a wide white stripe down the center. ;)

Click the link under my name and look at the studio photos link on my site.

Colours I used work well for me. But remember it also depends on the room size as some colours make the room seem small.

Cheers
Alan.

My previous studio was different shades of gray based on a gray light switch plate I saw at Home Depot. My wife faux finished one wall and it came out awesome. I used a shade close to 18% gray behind the computer monitors for color management when editing photos and videos.

I like the red/orange idea, too.

Black on all 4 walls and ceiling ..... giving a sense of no space and with low lamp light it gives your space a solitude were as you can be in there for 14 hours and have no sense of time passing.

Haha moresound I like your idea :). But Alan, the color Im thinking is a somewhat like your control room, just a little browner/orangier (if that makes any sense). Im going for a red color though because I read somewhere that it inspires creativity. Anyone heard anything about that?

I did my racks and console desktop in an dark orange..."burnt sienna" was the actual color name.
The studio has a mix of white on the ceiling and some walls, but then I have also one wall (my guitar wall) that I hand painted using a variety of colors, with a dark purple/blue base color covered with a lot of red/violet streaks/smuges...looks real cool. Everyone thinks it's some kind of artsy wall paper.
A couple of the wall sections have wood on them, and I stained them a deep rust-colored maple...plus there are the halogen lights in a variety of red, orange, yellow, blue, purple.
