Hey everyone, i'm trying to connect my tablet to my laptop wirelessly but i'm having problems.

I'm running a Windows 7 laptop and a Sony Tablet S.

I'm connected on both devices via the schools WiFi, FAU, which is a secure network and requires that i use my student account to log in. Once logged in, i have to view another website and enter the MAC address for the device to actually connect.

I'm attempting to use my tablet as a midi controller so i can continue to make beats without my keyboard and beat pad. (Wasn't able to bring them to my dorm).

The Sony Tablet S is running android 3.2

I've tried FingerPlay MIDI, Control, and TouchDAW.
Each all having different ways of connecting.

I think the network has a block or something like that?

I even tried ping -n -10 -l 3 <ip address>
and the device couldn't be found.

Any idea or advice would help,

thank you.

Is there an android midi app where i can connect via USB? i'd much rather prefer that.

Lack of ping response doesn't necessarily mean anything. The tablet OS may simply not have a ping utility installed. Many Web servers will even decline to respond to ping for security reasons.
