Been posting this all over the place so forgive if you've seen or already responded. My goal is to make an mp3 at home with my fostex, then post the mp3 on my own website, let a second person in a remote location view and then upload that mp3 into their home recording software (cakewalk comes to mind???), make a track out of that mp3, then add a second track at their location and make that mp3 available to me for mixing and adding effects. This works in theory, right? Right??

I hear little discussion of it but it sounds like a good idea to me. Why won't it work? And can the final mp3 not then be saved and shared, burned to CD, etc?
 
Check out the Hey Moskus thread. But don't start at the beginning! There's an intergalactic collaboration in there somewhere and the basic rules of what to do and how it was achieved...
