hey all
sorry, i'm not good at any of this, so maybe this is a rather easy question for all of you, but i really could use some help

View attachment litiiacou.mp3
so, it's about this acoustic guitar sound
as you can hear it in the attachment, the rhythm acoustic guitar, it's, like, i don't know, touching your ears, strummingg trough, you can feel it :D
and it's very rhythmic
when the drums come in, you can still feel the acoustic guitar.
it would be very useful, if somebody could give me a little advice, what to do when you record, process, and mix acoustic guitar, to get somewhere close to this kinda sound?
please somebody

:D, Life in Technicolor II I belive. . . one of my favorite songs. (most people dislike me for the fact coldplay are a major influence for me)

I think the effect that your looking for is for the most part done using EQ, basically boosting in the high mids brings out the strumming on an acoustic guitar. That and very well composed separation between different instruments, since its a comercial release I wouldn't worry too much about it though. If your trying to get that effect I would sweep through the mid-high mid-high freaquancies on your EQ untill you find the the place where you feel the strumming come out, and boost that frequency untill you feel it has been brought out enough, and not to much. And just make sure that you try to EQ the other parts so that they dont cover up the strumming.

The way I try and get my acoustic guitars to sit in the mix is to either record them twice, and hard pan left and right, or record once and add a stereo doubler effect.

Then you turn it down until you think you can't hear it, turn it up a tiny bit, mute it for 10 seconds, then unmute it and see what it adds to the mix.

That's one of my songs where I doubled a single acoustic track, and it could be doing with getting turned up a tiny bit when the song kicks in.
