anyone done this before
I want to put a push pull pot in my fat strat that has a "pearly gates" pickup in the bridge position in it. I read that it does have 4 wires, so my question is, how do I know what wires to hook up to what on the pot etc. I was looking at pots from "stewmac.com", or will guitar center have them?
Do I loose tone in the humbucker?
Will the single coil sound any good?

any info would be great.

Yes indeedy, that is exactly what the coil tap is designed for.The humbucking part means the two single coils will be out of phase. The mfg should have a chart on their web site with color coding of the wires or just use a volt ohm meter to check the phase.
I have a Charvel strat with a coil tapped bucker in the bridge position that lets me get single coil or humbucker, plus in or out of phase for any pickup combination, which adds tonal variety.
Good luck on your project.

Tom
