I just got the green light here at work to use our CNC machines for any sort of wood projects that I come up with.
I work at a plastic injection mold shop, so we've got some nice machines :D .

This means anything I can model up in my Pro-Engineer 3D design software, I can cut on the CNC machine.

I'm already working on modeling up a compound radius fingerboard with progressively scalloped frets, next I'll be modeling up some custom bodies and pickup and bridge routing...

Luckily I am good friends with the CNC operator who wants to be involved with my guitar building out of general curiosity. My project guitar future just got alot brighter! :D

Just wanted to share my joy!

That's cool - CNC would be a great way to build.

I'm currently waiting for the electronics for a tele style thinline that I'm building the old way - paper, pencil, sandpaper and a few chisels. It's great fun.

I presume you know about www.mimf.com?
